About Intrepid

Intrepid Microsystems began with a real visibility problem in a health practice and a technical question: how should a care provider become understood, trusted, and recommended as search becomes more conversational?

I'm Matt Richards, founder of Intrepid Microsystems.

For most of my career, I've worked on complex technical systems—first in the Air Force, then as a software developer and researcher supporting the U.S. Army. My work has involved understanding legacy systems, analyzing data, building software, and solving difficult problems where technology and people intersect.

When I started exploring artificial intelligence, I noticed a pattern. Many businesses were being sold marketing services, SEO packages, and AI solutions, yet they still struggled to connect with the people who needed them most.

Rather than starting with a product and looking for customers, I decided to start with a real problem.

A health practice close to home showed me the problem clearly. Despite strong outcomes and years of professional experience, reaching the right people online remained difficult. Traditional marketing efforts often focused on rankings, keywords, and traffic, while the real objective was helping someone find the right care at the moment they needed it.

That challenge became the foundation for Intrepid Microsystems.

We approach digital visibility the same way engineers approach complex systems: understand the problem, measure the current state, identify bottlenecks, implement improvements, and continuously evaluate results.

Artificial intelligence is changing how people search for information. Instead of typing a few keywords into a search engine, people increasingly ask questions and seek recommendations through AI-powered assistants. Businesses need more than traditional SEO—they need to be understood, trusted, and recommended by these new systems.

Our goal is to help organizations become visible in that new environment through a combination of technical expertise, data analysis, automation, AI, and a deep understanding of how information systems work.

We are not a traditional marketing agency.

We are engineers solving business visibility problems.

And like any good engineering project, we begin with a real-world problem, validate the solution, and build from proven results.

Credibility

Technical depth behind the visibility work.

Over the past two decades, I have worked across software development, systems engineering, network administration, data analytics, and applied artificial intelligence. My experience includes designing and developing software systems, administering secure computing environments, building web applications and APIs, creating reporting and decision-support tools, and implementing AI-powered solutions using modern large language models.

I have worked with technologies ranging from enterprise databases and legacy systems to cloud platforms, Linux servers, machine learning frameworks, and local AI infrastructure. This broad technical foundation allows me to understand how business systems work end-to-end and to apply practical AI solutions that deliver measurable results rather than simply following technology trends.
